This bespoke programme was designed for emerging, existing and senior managers in Youth Work Ireland Member Youth Services.
A 2 day training, aiming to;
● Strengthen confidence and competence in core management skills.
● Build capacity to lead teams within a legal and HR framework.
● Develop practical tools for handling difficult conversations and leadership challenges.
● Create a supportive space for peer learning and shared problem-solving.
Day 1 - Understanding the "Rulebook" and how past decisions shape current practice. This day grounds leadership in the legal and organisational framework that protects the manager, the staff, and the organisation.
Day 2 - Practice: Moving from understanding the rules to confidently applying them. This day is about building the practical HR skills and confidence to manage people effectively.
The programme examines Leadership Competence, Understanding who we work with and navigating workplace challenges through a Human Resources Lens.
To understand the Employment Relationship and Managers role in this space - the following activities were undertaken;
