Supervision is often misunderstood as “the big brother approach or the boss is watching” rather than a developmental space to reflect, learn and develop. Using creative methodologies in the supervision process helps the supervisor and supervisee to achieve more outcomes.
Supervision in youth work is a structured process that supports youth workers in reflecting on their practice, improving performance, and maintaining professional and emotional wellbeing. It plays a critical role in ensuring ethical, safe, and effective youth work practice.
