This workshop helps participants develop a better understanding of challenging behaviour and how to respond to it when working with young people. Through discussion and reflection, participants will explore the reasons behind behaviour and the importance of creating a safe, supportive environment where young people feel understood.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of how to:

Recognise factors that may contribute to challenging behaviour.

Identify their own triggers and reflect on how these influence their responses.

Understand the importance of trust, positive relationships, and trauma-informed practice.

Use the 3 C’s: Calm, Controlled, and Consistent, to help respond to challenging situations.

Tasks
Task no.1
Evidence verified by: აქტივობის ერთი ორგანიზატორი
Task: Personal Reflection

Reflect on an experience where you encountered challenging behaviour while working with, supporting, or interacting with a young person. Consider what happened, how you responded, and what you learned from the experience.

Think about what might have been behind the young person's behaviour, how your own feelings and reactions influenced the situation, and whether there is anything you would approach differently now. Use what you learned during the workshop, such as the 3 C’s (Calm, Controlled, and Consistent) and the importance of understanding behaviour rather than simply reacting to it.

Finish by reflecting on how this experience and the workshop have influenced your understanding of challenging behaviour and how you might apply this learning in your future practice.
