The Junior Health & Safety Officer badge gives young people the opportunity to help create a safe, welcoming and positive environment within the Acorn Project.
Working alongside staff, participants will learn how to identify potential hazards, report concerns appropriately and promote safe practices while developing confidence, responsibility and teamwork. This role focuses on awareness and positive contribution rather than enforcing rules.
Throughout the programme, young people will take part in practical activities, discussions and reflections that help them understand why health and safety matters in everyday life. They will build valuable life and employability skills while making a meaningful contribution to their project and community.
To achieve this badge, participants will demonstrate the skills they have developed, complete a short reflection on the importance of health and safety, and successfully complete the Junior Health & Safety Officer programme.
